Liposuction for Lipoma

Liposuction, the Perfect Salvation for Lipoma

Lipoma, the non-dangerous cosmetic issue, has made many people to feel embarrassed in the society, or shun away from the public life altogether. The ugly lumps can affect anyone, irrespective of the age and physical factors. While surgical treatments are used to remove them, the large sized lumps are treated with liposuction.

Lipomas usually range between the sizes 1 to 3cms, and they are removed by the surgical process. But, when the lipomas size increase more than 3cms, liposuction is preferred to treat them successfully. In some people, lipomas can persist in huge numbers (even up to 100 in some cases!), and the conventional surgical process is not at all suitable to treat this condition. The use of liposuction is evident in this scenario, and it can treat the multiple lumps without any major incisions on the body.

How do the lipoma lumps look like?

The lipoma lumps are formed under the skin, and they are nothing but fat or adipose cells. They are soft and rubbery, and in fact, they roll to some extent underside the skin. While there are no major health concerns related to it, they are a cosmetic issue for sure, since they lend ugly look to the sufferers.

Sometimes, lipomas can mask the growth of cancerous cells, since the sufferers can misunderstand the malignant tumors to lipoma lumps. Hence doctors prescribe liposuction to remove the lumps as soon as possible.

How is liposuction performed for lipoma?

The body areas where lipomas are present, are subjected to small incisions, and a cannula is introduced into them to stir up the fat cells. After these cells are loosened, a dedicated vacuum machine is used to suck out the fat cells, and this procedure removes the lipoma lumps.

Benefits of Liposuction for treating Lipoma

Obviously, there are a number of benefits in treating lipoma by using liposuction. There are no scars, since only small incisions are required to remove the fat. The blood loss is low due to this, and the recovery time is very quick when compared to other techniques.

In case of large sized or large group of lipomas, liposuction is the only technique available to remove them effectively. The traditional surgical techniques would lead to big and deep scars, which can make the clients look very scary and ugly. And, on the top of that, they are not effective at all. Hence, liposuction is highly beneficial for lipoma.

If you are suffering from lipoma and it is making you ward off the public activities, then it does makes sense to get liposuction to treat it effectively.
